Ausschreibung von PhD-Stipendien in der Frühpädagogik in England

The Froebel Educational Institute, an educational charity established in 1892, is offering a full-time or part-time PhD studentship, for UK or EU applicants only, for September 2011 on a topic that supports greater understanding of the significance and relevance of Froebelian principles and ideas to early years practice in the 21st century.
Applications are invited from graduates, normally with a first or upper second class honours degree and/or a relevant Master’s degree. The successful applicant would be required to register as a full or part-time student at Roehampton University, London, or at another UK institution that is willing to accept the applicant as a doctoral student and has the appropriate expertise and supervisory capacity. Registration will require adherence to the University’s regulations.
Applicants are invited to set out their aims, research question and methodology, deriving from the consideration, analysis or investigation of early years issues (such as may be found on this web page: http://www.froebel.org.uk/elements.html) in relation to their chosen topic.
Applicants wanting to register at a University other than Roehampton will need to have gained approval for their proposal before submitting the application form. A letter from the University confirming this, their capacity to provide expert supervision in Froebelian principles and practice, and the fees for full or part time study (as relevant), should be attached to the application form.
Each studentship will include a maintenance grant of £14,000 p.a. (pro rata for part time applicants), paid in termly installments, and will additionally include fees as required by the University.
